CULTURE CLUB: Culture Club will meet today, after school, in Room 318. Hope to see you there! 

GSA: Gender Sexualities Alliance will meet tomorrow, after school, in Room 318. We will be crafting a zine [(z-een)]. Hope to see you there! 

WINTER FORMAL: Winter Formal- Winter Formal is Friday, February 13, from 7-10 pm at The Field Club of Omaha (3615 Woolworth Avenue) for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, good attendance, and no discipline behaviors. 

Ticket sales are in the school store from Monday, February 9, to Thursday, February 12, before school (7:15 am – 7:35 am) and during the lunch periods (11:15 am -1:30 pm). Tickets are $15.  Ticket sales will end promptly at 1:30 pm on Thursday, February 12– no exceptions. There is no school on Friday, so plan accordingly.  You must have a ticket.  Your invitation is not your ticket; you must purchase a ticket for entry. You must also show a picture ID to enter the dance. 

Guests with good attendance and behavior are allowed with an approved form and a purchased ticket.  Forms are available in the main office, the school store, and via email. All forms must be submitted to Ms. Dierks (jodi.dierks@ops.org) by noon on Friday, February 6.  All forms must be submitted by an administrator/adult.  Forms will not be accepted directly from a student. 

FAFSA: Attention Central High students – it’s FAFSA week in Omaha Public Schools! FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Visit ops.org, slash, counseling to learn more. Seniors, submit your FAFSA or opt-out form by January 30th and you’ll be entered to win gift cards or other prizes! 

GIRL’S TRACK: If you’re ready to get faster, stronger, and compete this spring, this is your moment! Girls Track & Field season is coming up FAST, and we only have a few weeks before the season officially begins on March 2nd. 

Come to the informational meeting in the courtyard on January 22nd immediately after school to learn important details about the upcoming season, and how YOU can become a part of something special. Don’t miss out—championship seasons start with showing up! 

Be there or be slow! 

JROTC: Help support our furry friends as both let 2 classes are having a friendly competition debating if cats or dogs are better through supporting the Nebraska Humane Society. Donate items like cat & dog treats, toys, cardboard for scratching posts or toilet paper rolls, and etc. Donate to either dog or cat boxes that can be located at the c, library, or JROTC room during January 12th to the 23rd and keep an eye out for posters around the building with more information!  

JROTC let 2 service-learning project partnered with the Nebraska humane society! 
•donate to help support dogs, cats, and pets through these cold times! 
•items you can donate include toys, peanut butter, cardboard, treats, and more! 
•Donations sites include the c, the library, and JROTC room 
•the dates to donate are January 12-23 

YEARBOOK: Yearbooks can still be purchased, and they are $75. Personalized orders must be made by Jan. 29. Come to 029 to get a blue order form or go to yearbookforever.com and search Central to purchase there. Seniors, time is running out to buy a senior ad. Payments can be made in the same ways, in 029 or online. Senior ad orders are due  

OUR MINDS MATTER CLUB: Are you someone who is passionate about mental health and supporting yourself and others? Or are you just learning and would like to know more about mental health? If you answered yes to either of those questions, come join Central's new Our Minds Matter Club, Central Minds Matter! It's a student-led initiative with a national presence, and great for building mental health strategies for helping yourself and others! Come for the snacks, stay for the fun! Participation is free and open to everyone! Save the date for our first meeting: January 22nd in the counseling office conference room. See Mrs. Vidal with questions. 

STEPUP: STEPUP Omaha applications are now OPEN.  Ages 14-21 can apply for PAID opportunities in career exploration, leadership, entrepreneurship, jobs and internships.
